Festival of Geography

The Festival of Geography is a unique and exclusive event for students holding an offer of a place to study for a geography or environmental science degree at Queen Mary University of London.

Helping you to make an informed choice

The Festival of Geography is the School of Geography's Offer Holder Day which enables the next generation of geographers and environmental scientists to get a feel for what studying and living at QMUL will be like. From hands-on lab sessions to topical lectures, campus tours to inspiring graduate talks, fieldwork showcases to lively Q&A sessions, our day is dedicated to showing you what being a part of one of the world’s top geography departments is all about.

The most important thing about the Festival of Geography (or GeogFest as we like to call it) is that you get to meet our staff and students. These are the people you’ll work alongside as you progress through your degree. It’s important you quiz them and find out why they believe that QMUL is the best place to earn your degree.

Details about how to book your place for GeogFest will be sent to you shortly after you have been made an offer of a place during this year's UCAS application cycle. This is an invitation-only event, exclusively for our offer holders. If you wish to attend please make sure to book your place using the link provided in the email you'll receive. If you have any difficulties booking, please contact us at geog-fest@qmul.ac.uk.

The School of Geography receives over 900 applications to study on its diverse and exciting programmes each year. As demand to study here is high and as these events in the last two years were fully booked, we recommend that you book your place as soon as possible after receiving your invitation. You can also bring a parent or carer.

Festival of Geography 2016

I firmed my offer as soon as I received it because I had fallen in love with the location, course and fieldwork opportunities. After coming to the Festival of Geography, I realised everyone was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was a joy and the course was exactly as I had expected. I just wanted to say thank you all for putting on such an amazing and useful day!
